What We Support

What We Stand For

Unitary America stands for its communities, and hopes to ensure that all communities are united together – accomplishing shared goals, and implementing a shared vision. Unitary America advocates for community issues that are particularly salient: food insecurity, environmental stewardship, etc. Through shared and joint collaboration on these issues, our organization will help accomplish real change, and deliver real action. Our organization believes that we share more similarities then differences, and that through collaboration, we can implement solutions that actually work for our communities.

Unitary America limits its policies to only the areas that it has established chapters within – often, local politics and policies have the most direct effect on people who are living in them. We want to ensure that all of our communities are healthy, safe, and that all community members can find belonging, support, and safety within their wider community. We see ourselves as facilitating the efforts of neighbors, all working together to deliver a shared future. Together, we make actual change, and we make actual steps to accomplish well-meaning action within our local areas. Helping our communities, and helping the people within them, is our first priority.

Unitary America stands for a united, community-based society – one were all community members are included. That is why Unitary America calls itself Unitary America. To help unite America, and deliver real, tangible action.

Policy No. 1: Improving Food Access

IMPROVING FOOD ACCESS

The cost of food is rising rapidly, far faster than salaries – and is putting pressure on everyone, no matter what community they find themselves in. Unitary America advocates for measures that reduce food insecurity, and improving food access – especially food that is healthy, whole, and minimally-processed. We advocate for the end of “food deserts” – areas in America were healthy, unprocessed food is scant. We believe that all Americans – all should have access to safe, healthy, whole, nutritious food, no matter where they live. To that end, Unitary America launches programs that help alleviate food insecurity – most prominently, its community gardens and frequent food drives – to help bridge the gap as it advocates for solutions to this unfolding and pressing crisis.

Environmental Stewardship

Everyone, everywhere, deserves clean water, clean air, and a clean environment. We advocate for policies that not only help the environment – but in turn, help the people that live within them. Our communities are linked with the environments that surround them – a community without an environment does not exist. Unitary America helps foster not only environmental stewardship, but care for the communities that live within them. To that end, Unitary America is planning to launch tree planting campaigns, as well as trash cleanups across its chapters – helping to better those communities, and helping to better the environment within them. We believe that combined with our advocacy, we can help deliver solutions that work not only for communities, but for the environments around them.

Improving Rural Communities

Rural communities have traditionally suffered from a lack of funding, and from a lack of overall attention from state governments. Due to their low populations, states often prioritize higher population, higher density areas. However, this often leaves rural areas neglected and in desperate need of funding for infrastructure projects, community development initiatives, and the like. Therefore, Unitary America advocates for more funding for rural communities (especially those with high poverty rates), so that these areas can develop together with other, more affluent, and more populated areas. To resolve this disconnect, Unitary America prioritizes its programs in rural areas – from its gardens to its neighborhood associations – helping to further better these communities, while awaiting the results from Unitary America’s advocacy.

Supporting Small Farmers

Small, family-owned, farmers are in a decline, spurred on by the creation of large agro-business conglomerates. Unitary America advocates for these small farmers, and understands the vital role that they play in agriculture, and in America’s many rural communities. We believe that it should be easier for the average American to grow their own food, but also for already established, family-owned farmers to continue their operations. We believe that these local crops should be incorporated as much as possible into their surrounding communities, and should be encouraged through farmer’s markets, direct partnerships with businesses, and the like. To this end, Unitary America teaches those how to grow their own food, but also advocates for small farmers, and thus for the small, rural communities they are located within. We want to make sure that our small farmers are supported as much as possible, and can continue their generational tradition for as long as they wish.

Improving Infrastructure

America’s infrastructure is suffering – from its roads to its airports, from urban, high-density communities to rural towns and villages. Infrastructure, everywhere, should be a priority for any community – and is a priority for Unitary America. Unitary America advocates for more infrastructure spending, and supports improvements to infrastructure, especially in underdeveloped, economically-suffering, or rural areas. To this end, our organization advocates for infrastructure development in these regions, so that infrastructure can better connect, and better serve communities, and the people within them. We advocate for infrastructure universally – whether that be ports or electrical power networks – helping connect people, and helping to better unite communities. In this, we believe that public transportation – especially in areas that lack a developed transportation network – should be prioritized. Unitary America wishes to better connect American communities, and so that better infrastructure can open better opportunities – wherever that may be.

Supporting Small Businesses

Small businesses are the backbone of any economy, and any community. Small businesses are what give every downtown its unique charm, and every neighborhood its local grocer, bar, hairdresser, and whatever else any enterprising person decides to start. Unitary America supports small business, and wants to ensure that aspiring business owners can find the foundation to execute their ideas. Our organization has partnered with small businesses to help deliver our programs, and to help support us as a nascent group. We advocate for policies that aid small businesses, and small business owners. We are committed and determined to help our communities – and to help our downtowns. Downtowns are what strengthen any community – and help to provide locally-owned, often locally-made and handcrafted products. We advocate for small business because small businesses are what allow our communities to grow, develop, and thrive.

Note: Unitary America is a non-partisan organization. We are not “left” or “right,” but advocate for solutions that help relieve the greatest amount of suffering, and improve communities. We reject partisanship, and prioritize real results to deliver essential community aid. We do not just advocate for solutions, we implement them. All communities, all neighbors, everywhere: that is Unitary America’s position.
